We offer our premium grade, Blue Ribbon Fence Picket – graded both faces and every piece is guaranteed to apply directly and we also offer our Red Ribbon Grade for commercial applications.

Blue Ribbon Fence Pickets
Rough, S1S2E and S4S:
- Min. 85-95% #1 two face (100% Tight knot)
- Pencil wane, occasional piece
- No splits or cracks

Red Ribbon Fence Pickets

- Knots, sound and partially intergrown or firmly fixed
- Max 2/3 of the edge wane
- Max 6″ splits on the end, up to 2ft in center

We offer three grades to cover all applications. Our premium residential Blue Ribbon Rail, commercial Black Ribbon Rail and our Industrial Grade Rails.
Blue Ribbon Rails
- 100% Select Tight Knot
- 100% Four Square corners
- No rot, No Wane, No Hol
Black Ribbon Rails
- Pencil wane occasional piece
- Knots: max 1/2 the face – less at edges
- Holes: max 1/3 the face
- Check/Split/Shake: 6″ on end, 1/2 the length if in middle
- Unsound Wood: short streaks up to 1/4″ wide and 12″ long or equivalent
- Ends MUST hold a nail and sit flat & square, nailing surface full length
Commodity Rails
- Wane: 1/2 the edge at ends, up to 2/3 the edge away from ends
- Knots: 1/2 the face if sound & tight, 1/2 the edge
- Holes: 1/2 the face, less at edge
- Check/Split/Shake: 12″ on end, 1/2 the length if in middle
- Unsound Wood: streaks up to 1″ wide full length
- Ends MUST have nailing surface and sit flat & square

Our grades for WRC posts are a #2 & Btr Appearance Grade which is usable in all applications, fence, deck and arbor posts as well as our Black Ribbon Grade, which is ideal for fencing.
